Woman injured in Marquette Township accident

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash where one of the drivers had to be extricated from her vehicle.

The accident happened Wednesday around 2:45 p.m. on Wright Street at Commerce Drive.  Deputies say Hannah Erickson, 29, of Marquette was stopped at the intersection when she pulled in front of a northbound vehicle driven by Kyle Storm, 23, of Negaunee.  Erickson said she didn’t see Storm’s truck.

Marquette Township Fire and Rescue had to use the Jaws of Life to remove Erickson from her vehicle.  She was taken to UP Health System Marquette with non-life-threatening injuries.

Erickson was cited for failure to yield.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
