Driver ticketed in Marquette Township crash

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash in Marquette Township Monday morning.

State Police from the Negaunee Post say it happened around 6:45 a.m. on US-41 at the Commerce Drive intersection.

Jilaine Berquist-Ayotte, 53, of Negaunee was eastbound in the inside lane and slowing for traffic stopped at the red light when she was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Stacy Nardi, 38, of Ishpeming. 

Nardi was cited for traveling too fast for conditions.

The Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Division assisted at the scene.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
