Driver cited in Marquette Township accident

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--    No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Marquette Township Friday morning.

Marquette County Sheriff’s deputies say it happened around 11:55 a.m. on US-41 in front of Red Lobster. Marilyn Klahn, 85, of Marquette pulled out onto the highway and struck the driver’s side of a vehicle driven by Ann Alanen, 21, of Ishpeming.

Both drivers refused medical attention.

Klahn was cited for failure to yield. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
