Fatal motorcycle accident in Grover, WI

GROVER, WI--   A motorcyclist has been killed in a three-vehicle crash in Marinette County.

The Sheriff’s Office says it happened Saturday around 1:15 p.m. on County B at Hartwig Road in the town of Grover.  They say Verlon Voelker, 73, of Grover was westbound and had slowed to turn onto Hartwig when he was hit from behind by a pickup truck driven by a 20-year-old Peshtigo man. The impact sent the motorcycle skidding into the path of an eastbound pickup driven by an 84-year-old Marinette man. The eastbound truck ran over Voelker, killing him.

The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Department and the County Medical Examiner.
