Boy on e-bike hit by car in Marquette

MARQUETTE, MI— A juvenile sustained only minor injuries in an electric bike crash at a busy Marquette intersection Friday.

City Police responded around 3:10 p.m. to West Washington Street and McClellan Avenue and found the juvenile conscious and alert. His e-bike was lodged under a vehicle involved in the accident.

The boy was taken to UPHS-Marquette with non-serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured, but the car had to be towed from the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, Marquette City Fire Department, and Marquette Township EMS assisted at the scene.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
