Lansing, MI – Senator Mike Prusi is backing a bill that would raise minimum wage two dollars over the next two years. The bill would permanently affix minimum wage to the rate of inflation and would benefit 1 in 6 hourly workers in the state. The build up would be gradual, with a proposed increase to $5.90 this July followed by an upsurge to $6.65 next January and a final raise to $7.15 in January of 2007.
