The football team dropped at tough game at Findlay, losing 40-37 in double overtime. Two Wildcats were named GLIAC Players of the Week for the second time in a row, with QB Buddy Rivera for the offense and LB Jim Couretas on the defensive side. Couretas also set two NCAA Division II records for solo and total tackles.
The cross country team ran away with their season opener, taking first place at the Wildcat Open in Ishpeming. NMU placed four runners in the top five.
The soccer team went one up and one down over the weekend, losing 3-1 to the Minnesota-Duluth but bouncing back to beat St. Cloud State 1-0. The Cats are now 3-3 on the season.
