Big Bay, MI – Some of the top minds in ancient American archaeology will be in Marquette County this weekend. The International Conference on Ancient America will feature three days of presentations and displays on evidences of ancient trade and visitation in North America. Conference chair Judy Johnson says this gathering of experts helps us understand where we came from. The conference will focus on topics like Michigan copper mining in the Bronze Age, ancient sailing routes and waterways, and interpreting cave art. It begins this Friday at the Bay Cliff Health Center in Big Bay.
