Marquette – Michigan Public Service Commission chairman J. Peter Lark held a press conference in Marquette today (Friday) to discuss the Be Weather Wise campaign. The program is designed to make people aware of higher gas prices, and gives tips on what people can do to lower their bills this winter. With average monthly costs expected to rise $59 a month, Lark says when it comes to making your home more energy efficient, sooner is always better. Lark also highlighted a new financial assistance program for low income families that would prevent utilities from being shut off over the winter in the event the family cannot meet their monthly payments.
