Crystal Falls, MI – The city of Crystal Falls has negotiated an agreement to purchase water from the township for the next 40 years. City manager Chuck Nordeman says the township's water requires no treatment, while the city water must be treated to remove iron. Nordeman says the agreement will be signed soon and will be beneficial to both entities. Nordeman says purchasing water from the township will be less costly because a new infrastructure won't be necessary. He adds that the city has budgeted about $1.2 million to put a water transmission main in service. Construction is expected to be completed in fall 2007.
