Wisconsin man wins UP 200

By Nicole Walton

Marquette, MI – A Wisconsin man has won the UP 200 Sled Dog Championship. Tim Calhoun of Tomahawk crossed the finish line at Marquette's Lower Harbor Sunday at 12:49 p.m. Race officials say he led the pack the entire time. It took Calhoun 24 hours and 25 minutes to finish the 260-mile race, not including the mandatory 16-hour layover. 2005 champion Rick Larson of Montana finished 53 minutes behind Calhoun. $27,000 in prize money was handed out to the top 15 mushers Monday morning at an award ceremony at the Marquette Holiday Inn.
