UNDATED – Marquette County Sheriff Mike Lovelace is warning residents about an e-mail scam that's making the rounds. The e-mail states the recipient is eligible for an additional refund from the IRS. It requests the recipient's social security number and credit card information. Lovelace says the IRS has confirmed that the e-mail is a scam, as they never contact people via computer. Citizens are reminded to never give financial information over e-mail or by telephone, unless it's through a trusted source.
