Murder-suicide in Gogebic County

By ASSOCIATED PRESS/Nicole Walton

Bessemer, MI – A standoff between a man and police in Gogebic County has ended in a murder-suicide. A 6-year-old boy was also wounded. Police say the confrontation is over, but didn't elaborate and didn't identify the people involved. State Police surrounded the Bessemer house Thursday night, where a 34-year-old suspect was holed up. Authorities say the man's pregnant girlfriend was also inside. Police say the man fired on officers answering a domestic disturbance call. During the shooting, a bullet hit 6-year-old Keegan Miller, who was taken to a nearby hospital, then transferred to a hospital in Duluth, Minnesota. He was in stable condition as of late Thursday night.
