Gas hits $4 mark in Marquette

By ASSOCIATED PRESS

Marquette, MI – AAA Michigan says Marquette has become Michigan's first metro area where the average price of regular unleaded gasoline has topped the $4 mark. The auto club said Thursday the average price in town was $4.03 per gallon. The statewide average is $3.94, an increase of more than three cents since the beginning of the week.

A number of other metro areas are flirting with the $4 level. AAA says it surveys 2,800 Michigan gas stations daily to compile its averages.
