UNDATED – The school board has amended the 2008-2009 NICE school district budget. In addition, supply cuts have been made including; reductions in teaching supply purchases, allocations for library books, and central office supplies. Mike Haynes is the superintendent of nice schools. He says amending school budgets are common for any school district and happen several times a year. Haynes says the district is predicting $175,000 in expenditures after the amendment. The district has saved about $6,000 in overtime, and are also saving money by not purchasing 3 new school buses.
