Escanaba, MI – Escanaba's proposed budget for 2009-2010 has passed initial approval. The plan totals 32 million dollars and will go through it's final hearing and adoption by the City Council on May 21st. Jim O'Toole is the City Manager of Escanaba. He says funds have been divided, with road repair work receiving top priority. O'Toole says through the work sessions, the 1st proposed budget was accepted without the need for any changes. He adds that the final public hearing, which allows residents to participate in open comments, will take place next Thursday.
