Ore to Shore Race to take place this weekend

Marquette, MI – The 10th Annual Ore to Shore mountain bike race is taking place on Saturday. The event is a point-to-point race that entails a 48 mile or 28 mile race starting in Negaunee going through Ishpeming and ending in Marquette. The event staff was looking at a mark of 2,000 bicyclists however, will have about 1,800 participating. Nicole Dewald is a Race Coordinator. She says Ore to Shore is an opportunity for Marquette to put what they have to offer on display. Dewald says they have a wide range of participants from children, to families, to professional bicyclists from across the Midwest. The race begins at 9am Saturday and will continue through 6pm. Packet pick-ups for registration will take place Friday from 6pm to 9:30pm at the Lakeview Arena in Marquette. Registration is not allowed on the day of the race.
