September ranked 6th driest

Negaunee Township, MI – This September has been ranked as the 6th driest on record by the National Weather Service forecasters in Negaunee Township. Although the past few days have produced a high amount of rainfall, from September 1st through the 25th only 0.29 inches of rain fell. A total of 1.84 inches of rain was recorded over the month of September, which was a total of 1.9 inches below normal. For the entire year, there was a recorded 22.1 inches of rain. That number is 4.95 inches below normal. National Weather Service forecasters are predicting more typical fall weather in the next 2 to 3 months, with more wind and heavier rainfall.
