NMU Board approves tuition credit

By Nicole Walton

Marquette, MI – The Northern Michigan University Board of Trustees has approved a plan to offer a tuition credit to students. NMU is using $1.3 million in stimulus funding to give resident undergraduates about $190 for the fall 2010 semester. The Board approved the recommendation Friday.

The Board also approved Northern's five-year master plan; approved a new Master of Business Administration program beginning in fall of 2010; and agreed to the purchase of a Charter Communications parcel, tower, and building in Houghton. The structures will be used by Public Radio 90, which has applied to the FCC for a frequency in the area.
