Marquette, MI – Residents are encouraged to participate in the Ride of Silence bicycle procession in Marquette. The demonstration is being hosted by the KMK Cycling Club. The bike route is a little over 6.5 miles and open to everyone. The 3 main goals of the event, which is part of the National Bike Safety Month, are to pay respect to cyclists that have been injured or killed while biking, to generate awareness that cyclists are part of the travelling public, and to broaden the message of "share the road" and safe cycling practices. The procession begins Wednesday with a brief ceremony at the Lower Mattson Park Kids Cove at 6:45pm, with the bicycling beginning at 7pm, lasting 1 hour.
