Credit program approaching deadline

By Abbey Kwiatkowski

UNDATED – The Michigan Public Service Commission is reminding residents that the Home Heating Credit deadline is near. The cutoff to apply for the heating credit, which helps low-income people with winter energy bills, is September 30th. Those eligible for the assistance must have their own homestead in Michigan, must own or rent a home, and their income must be within certain limits. For more information go to www.michigan.gov/heatingassistance. The service is funded by the Home Energy Assistance Program and administered by the Michigan Department of Treasury.
