Escanaba, MI – The cost of heat should go down for residents this winter season. Officials with Mich-Con DTE Energy in Escanaba say under a budget plan, the average cost for residents in 2009 and 2010 was $93 per month. Due to the economy, natural gas prices have decreased and customers can now expect to pay about $88 per month. In addition, the Gas Recovery Charge, which indicates the cost set by DTE Energy to purchase natural gas has gone down from $7.06 in November of 2009, to $6.55 for 2010.
