Ishpeming, MI – Ishpeming Police are holding off on enforcing the city's winter parking ban until the snow flies.
November 1 through April 30 residents are prohibited from parking their vehicles on streets between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. in outlying areas, and between 2:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. downtown.
Chief Jim Bjorne says unless a significant amount of snowfall causes plows to come out, the parking ban will not immediately be enforced. Once winter sets in the ban will be enforced nightly.
A violation of the parking ban will result in a $50 ticket.
