36th Hiawatha Traditional Music Festival

The 36th Hiawatha Traditional Music Festival takes place July 18-20 at Marquette’s Tourist Park. The weekend gets underway with the Friday Night Dance and continues through the weekend featuring not only great music on the main stage but also workshops, dance, crafts, and food.

This year’s lineupincludes Robin and Linda Williams, Teada, Susan Werner, Harp, Hart & Bones and more.

Tickets, camping registration for weekend ticket-buyers, volunteer sign-up forms and information about Hiawatha Music Co-op memberships are also available through the Music Co-op office at 129 W. Baraga Suite B, in Marquette. That’s just west of the U.P Children’s Museum and across the street from Garden Bouquet and Design. Hans Ahlström is the host of several programs including the daily musical variety show Weekday, the mostly straight ahead jazz show Night Studio, the self explanatory Blues Today, and the eclectic Sound Spectrum. You can also hear Hans as the local host of NPR's All Things Considered news magazine. He also helps manage Public Radio 90's web content, interviews local and visiting writers and artists, works with NMU student interns, and writes the occasional news story.
