Aquila drilling in Menominee County

LAKE TOWNSHIP, MI--   Aquila Resources has announced the start of its 4,600 meter winter drilling program at its Back Forty project in Menominee County.

Officials say the program is designed to expand known resources at the zinc- and gold-rich land in Lake Township.  One diamond drill will focus on known resources at the Back Forty, while another will conduct exploratory drilling on a new mineralized zone discovered last year.

Recently drilled holes in a massive sulfide zone are currently being sampled and tested.

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality has already approved a Mining Permit and Michigan Air Use Permit to Install. Aquila must acquire two additional permits: the National Pollution Elimination System Permit and a permit for wetland, inland lake, and stream impacts.
