Upper Peninsula Michigan Works! gets state grants for employee training

MARQUETTE, MI— Nearly $551,000 in Going PRO Talent Fund grants is going to 13 Upper Peninsula businesses to help workers receive training.

The state fund makes awards to employers to assist in training, developing, and retaining current and newly hired employees.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
