MARQUETTE, MI— Equipment from a Marquette-based business is headed to space on Monday.

Space logistics company Kall Morris, Incorporated creates technology designed to pull space debris from Earth’s orbit. A prototype called REACCH-or Responsive Engaging Arms for Captive Care and Handling-will be on a SpaceX mission to resupply the International Space Station.

The technology uses electrostatic and gecko adhesion to softly and securely capture objects of nearly any size or shape in space.

REACCH will be launched into Low Earth Orbit for in-space testing.

The payload is set to demonstrate KMI’s Relocation As A Service-or RAAS-technology, which offers critical space debris removal and orbit relocation capabilities, enabling safer and more sustainable space operations.

The launch is scheduled for Monday at 9:29 p.m. EST.
