Harley Durocher trial set for December

ESCANABA, MI--   Trial is set for a Gwinn man accused of causing the traffic deaths of two people in Gladstone.  

Harley Durocher, 24, was driving a logging truck that ran a red light at the intersection of US-2/41 and South Hill Road last March.  The semi struck a vehicle containing Thomas and Barbara Swift of Gladstone, who died of their injuries.  The driver of a third car was injured. 

Durocher is charged with two counts of operating with a suspended license causing death, two counts of reckless driving causing death, and two counts of operating with the presence of a controlled substance causing death.

Trial is set for December 2nd through the 6th in Delta County Circuit Court.   

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
