Fish arraigned on armed robbery, other charges

BARAGA, MI--   A preliminary hearing has been set for a suspect in an August armed robbery case in Watton.  

Bernard Fish, 47, was arrested by U.S. marshals in Wisconsin October 2 and charged in Green Bay federal court for impersonating a federal agent. 

He was extradited back to Michigan and arraigned this week in Baraga County District Court.  Fish is charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of extortion, two counts of unlawful imprisonment, and one count of impersonating a police officer to commit a crime.  He faces up to life in prison if convicted as charged. 

A preliminary hearing is set for November 12.  Fish remains lodged in the Baraga County Jail on a $1 million bond. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
