Watton robbery suspect arrested in Stephenson; another still at large

STEPHENSON, MI--   One of two suspects involved in an armed robbery August 1 in Baraga County has been arrested.

Acting on a tip from a retired State Police commander, troopers executed a search warrant Monday in Stephenson.  Evidence from the incident in Watton as well as from a robbery and kidnapping in Long Lake, Wisconsin was recovered.

One of the suspects was in the residence and was taken into custody without incident.  He remains in the Baraga County Jail, pending arraignment.

The second suspect—Bernard Fish, 47—is still at large and believed to be in Wisconsin.  He’s described as a 5’11”, 185-pound Native American with short black hair.

The Cadillac Escalade was recovered, and it’s unknown what vehicle Fish may be driving.

The search warrant was executed by the Michigan State Police Emergency Response Team, with assistance from UPSET and troopers from the Gladstone/Menominee post.

Anyone with information regarding Fish’s whereabouts is asked to contact their nearest law enforcement agency.
