Closing arguments expected in Fish case

BARAGA, MI--   Both sides have rested in the Bernard Fish armed robbery trial in Baraga.

Fish is charged with impersonating a federal agent and two counts each of armed robbery, extortion, and unlawful imprisonment in the August, 2013 incident in Watton.

Fish claimed the whole thing was a setup between him and alleged victim Jim Jackson to get money and marijuana from Jackson’s father.  He said codefendant Donovan Waupoose wasn’t aware of the plan.

The prosecution rested its case around noon Thursday.  Both sides are expected to present closing arguments Friday.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
