Man charged in Norway shooting

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI--   A Norway man has been arraigned on charges connected to a shooting involving State Police on Wednesday. 

Richard Goodreau, 49, is charged with assault with intent to murder, malicious destruction of police property, felony firearms, and first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

He’s accused of shooting at troopers from the Iron Mountain Post when they tried to serve an arrest warrant at a Norway residence.  Two troopers were injured.  One was treated and released from Dickinson County Hospital, while the other sought their own treatment. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
