Houghton woman pleads in intoxicated rollover case

HOUGHTON, MI--   A Houghton woman has been ordered to sobriety court after she pleaded guilty to driving drunk with young children in the car.  

Annie Freeman, 32, flipped her car on Airport Road in Osceola Township May 8.  After the crash a toddler was found walking around outside the vehicle and a baby was still strapped inside.

Freeman was charged with a misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated with a person under 16 years of age and a misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana.  She pleaded guilty to the OWI charge Friday.  The marijuana charge was dismissed.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
