Home invasion suspect sentenced

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Marquette man has been sentenced on a home invasion charge. 

Derek Lentz, 33, was arrested in May for breaking into a home on Freedom Drive.  He pleaded guilty to second-degree home invasion.  A charge of possession of a narcotic less than 25 grams was dropped.

Lentz was sentenced Friday to between 29 months and 15 years in prison with credit for 58 days already served.   

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
