FLINT, MI (AP)-- Lawyers representing residents in Flint are asking a judge to order home delivery of clean water.
A request for an injunction was filed Thursday in Detroit federal court. The American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan says many residents don't have cars and can't get to water sites.
Flint's water has been contaminated by lead leaching from old pipes, the result of a lack of corrosion control when the city was tapping the Flint River. Residents are urged to use bottled water or filtered water.
The ACLU and the Natural Resources Defense Council say residents are also struggling to correctly use filters.
Ari Adler, a spokesman for Gov. Rick Snyder, says home delivery already is available by nonprofits. He says the state is nearing its 80th day of emergency operations.
