Calumet man sentenced for fleeing and eluding

HOUGHTON, MI--   A Calumet man who led police on a high-speed chase from Torch Lake Township to Copper City in March has been sentenced.  

Patrick Shea, 33, was originally charged with second-degree home invasion, fleeing and eluding, possession of a controlled substance, and assaulting a police officer.  He eventually pleaded guilty to fleeing and eluding and driving while impaired.

Shea has been sentenced to nine months in jail with credit for 102 days already served and two years of probation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
