Arraignment held for woman who crashed vehicle into cemetery

MARQUETTE, MI--   A woman who crashed an alleged stolen vehicle into a fence at Marquette’s Holy Cross Cemetery faces several charges.

Ashlee Nicole Domire, 20, of Ishpeming was stopped by state police on McClellan Avenue early Saturday morning for suspected drunken driving.  Domire led troopers on a chase down McClellan that ended when the Jeep she was driving crashed into a fence, damaging some headstones.

Domire is charged with third-degree fleeing a police officer, operating a motor vehicle with unlawful driving away, operating while intoxicated, and driving with a revoked, suspended, or denied license. 

A probable cause hearing for Domire is set for August 16 in Marquette District Court.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
