Low-speed chase suspects headed to court on drug charges

MARQUETTE, MI--   Court hearings have been set for three suspects arrested on drug charges following a low-speed chase in Marquette.

Last Friday morning police tried to stop a vehicle, which fled on West Baraga Avenue at speeds under 25 miles per hour. The suspect vehicle was eventually cornered by Chocolay Police and Sheriff’s deputies.

All three individuals inside were arrested. Driver Drew Wright, 33, of Marquette is charged with delivery/manufacture of cocaine, 4th-degree fleeing and eluding, and driving while license suspended. A pretrial hearing is set for November 11.

Ranson and Melchizedek Woods, both 21, of Milwaukee are both charged with delivery/manufacture of cocaine. Their preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 1.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
