Duquette pleads to Ramada B&E

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Marquette man accused of breaking into the Ramada Inn in September has pleaded guilty in the case.

Bernard Duquette, 49, was one of three people arrested after someone broke into a ground-floor window and took several items from one of the rooms, including a hand gun. The firearm was later found in a residence on Sugarloaf Avenue.

Duquette was originally charged with 2nd-degree home invasion, two counts of receiving and concealing a stolen firearm, possession of a stolen firearm by a felon, larceny of a firearm, and four counts of felony firearms. He pleaded guilty Monday to 2nd-degree home invasion.

Sentencing is set for January 18 in Marquette County Circuit Court.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
