Felch man found guilty of growing, delivering large quantities of marijuana

MARQUETTE, MI--    A jury has found a Felch man guilty of manufacturing and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Lee Blomquist, 48, maintained a grow operation on family property and sold processed pot to a Wisconsin resident over a nine-month period. At the time of his 2017 arrest the Kingsford, Iron Mountain, Norway, Dickinson Drug Team found 32 pounds of processed marijuana with a street value of more than $100,000.

Pending trial last September the court gave Blomquist a one-week furlough from custody to visit with his sick father and Blomquist fled the jurisdiction.  His trial started after KIND investigators recaptured him in November.

Blomquist was found guilty in Marquette Federal Court of manufacture or aiding and abetting the manufacture of more than 50 marijuana plants and of possession of or aiding and abetting the possession of the plants with the intent to distribute them.

A sentencing date has not yet been set.
