Accused stabber arraigned in Houghton County

HOUGHTON, MI--    A Dollar Bay woman has been charged in the stabbing of another woman over a loose dog at McLain State Park in Houghton County last weekend.

Kay Hendrickson, 39, is charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. She’s accused of stabbing the 27-year-old victim on two occasions.

The victim suffered a laceration to her abdomen and a puncture wound to her bicep. She was treated for her injuries.

Hendrickson remains lodged in the Houghton County Jail on a $100,000 bond. A preliminary exam is set for September 4.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
