Marquette trial starts for former doctor who offered prescriptions for sexual acts

MARQUETTE, MI— Trial has begun for a former Marquette County physician accused of writing prescriptions for sexual favors from two female patients.

Jonathan Robertson is charged with three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct during a felony; two counts of third-degree CSC; one count of delivery of a controlled substance, causing death; five counts of delivery/manufacture of a narcotic or cocaine, less than 50 grams; one count of delivery/manufacture of a Schedule 4 drug or marijuana; and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

The alleged assaults occurred in exam rooms between October 2014 and October 2015. One woman had sought treatment for an opioid addiction and the other was referred to him for pain management.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
