Marquette County man found guilty of a number of domestic violence felonies

Marquette County, MI - A jury has found a Marquette County man guilty of a number of felonies related to a domestic violence incident at Sawyer last July. Following a 4-day trial in Marquette last week, 34-year-old Branden Klyk (click) was convicted of ‘torture,’ ‘1st-degree criminal sexual conduct,’ ‘unlawful imprisonment,’ 2-counts of ‘assault by strangulation,’ and ‘domestic violence’—a misdemeanor. He was found not guilty of ‘larceny in a building.’ The jury deliberated for about 3-hours before coming to a decision Friday. A sentencing date has not yet been set.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
