MARQUETTE, MI— The woman accused of setting a house fire that killed an Ishpeming man has pleaded not guilty.

Julie Boxley, 52, is charged with first-degree homicide and first-degree arson. She’s accused of starting the fire that killed 72-year-old Glenn Andrews in March of 2023.

She entered the plea via Zoom from the Alger County Jail, where she’s being held for trying to set her husband on fire in 2021. Boxley faces charges of assault with intent to commit great bodily harm less than murder and assault with intent to murder in Alger County.

Her bond is set at $20 million.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
