Motorcyclist police chased from Ishpeming to Skandia to be sentenced for fleeing an officer

MARQUETTE, MI— A Champion man who led police on a chase through Marquette County will be sentenced in April.

Hunter Prisk, 24, was riding a motorcycle when Ishpeming Police tried to conduct a traffic stop last April. He led officers on a chase to M-94 in Skandia, where he stopped near Engman Lake Road.

Prisk pleaded guilty to one count of fourth-degree fleeing a police officer. As part of the plea deal, charges of operating a motor vehicle without security, operating with a suspended, revoked or denied license, reckless driving, and three other counts of fourth-degree fleeing a police officer were dismissed.

Sentencing is set for April 11 in 25th Circuit Court.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
