WI driver hijacked by man with gun

LONG LAKE, WI--   Police are searching for a man who forced a driver at gunpoint to drive him to Forest County, Wisconsin.

WLUC-TV reports the incident happened Thursday night around 9:30 at the Flatlander’s Bar in Florence County’s Long Lake.  The victim says a man approached his vehicle, asking for a light.  When the victim reached for his car’s lighter the suspect jumped into the back seat, pulled out a gun, and demanded to be taken to the town of Newald in Forest County.

There were four passengers in the vehicle, including two small children.  Once the vehicle arrived in Newald the suspect let everyone out of the car, unharmed.  The car was later found three miles south of C.J.’s Bar.

The suspect is described as a six-foot, 185-pound Hispanic male in his 30s with short black hair and a light goatee.  He was wearing a red and white Chicago Bulls baseball cap, white shirt, and a leather-type jacket.

Police are also looking for an accomplice, described as a 5’8” Hispanic man in his 20s between 140 and 150 pounds.

Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts is asked to call the Florence County Sheriff’s Office at 800-235-9897.
