Burning meth components discovered in Marquette Township

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP-- A teacher and students have discovered a methamphetamine dump in Marquette County.

The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team says Wednesday a teacher from North Star Academy was walking on a trail with 7^th- and 8^th-grade students west of the Target store when they came upon a smoldering pile of debris. The debris turned out to be the burning components of a meth lab.

UPSET Certified Meth Responders cleaned up the site.

No suspects have been identified at this time.
