Sawyer man found in possession of drugs, guns

SAWYER, MI--   A Sawyer man is in jail after detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team arrested him on drug and firearms charges. 

The 31-year-old man was taken into custody Thursday on two counts of felon in possession of a firearm and one count of receiving and concealing stolen property.

UPSET detectives then executed a search warrant at a residence on Invader Street and seized drugs and other evidence. 

The case is being reviewed by the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office and

the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Marquette. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
