Alleged meth lab found in Dickinson County, two arrested

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI--   Two people were arrested in Iron Mountain last week for manufacturing methamphetamine.  

Iron Mountain Police say they received a tip on Tuesday and, along with the KIND Drug Enforcement Team responded to an apartment at 501 Pewabic Street.  They discovered equipment used to make meth.

The apartment building was evacuated and the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team called in to clean up the site. 

Arrested were Dennis Schuirmann, 42, of Kingsford and Anita Lindlbauer, 32, of Iron Mountain.  Both are charged with operating/maintaining a meth lab, delivery/manufacture of meth, and possession of meth.  Lindlbauer is also charged with being an habitual offender. 

A preliminary exam is set for October 15 in Dickinson County District Court. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
