Pot bust in St. Ignace

ST. IGNACE, MI--   Nearly 50 marijuana plants have been seized at a house in St. Ignace.  

On Thursday detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement EAST Team executed a search warrant at 198 High Street and uncovered 46 pot plants, about 1.5 pounds of processed marijuana, hemp oil, and marijuana butter.

The two residents of the home had medical marijuana patient and/or caregiver cards, but were not in compliance with the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act.

No arrests have yet been made.  The Mackinac County Prosecutor is reviewing the case for charges.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
